Indonesian militaty engineers in the country to rebuild QVS
Twenty-five soldiers of the Indonesian Military arrived in the country last night to begin rehabilitation works at the Queen Victoria School (QVS) after it was badly damaged by Tropical Cyclone Winston.
Minister for Education Dr. Mahendra Reddy said the Ministry of Infrastructure will be working closely with Indonesian military in carrying out the rehabilitation works.
REDDY: “They want to determine whether they need to do it from the scratch or do renovation works, you know whether to demolish and start that is what will be decided this week, the scope of work.”
The Education minister said the total cost of damage is over $9 million. The work is expected to begin at the end of this month.
